Context
In 2005, more than 4 million new migrants entered OECD countries on a permanent basis. Once in the receiving countries, they only have few known means at their disposal. Therefore, ICVolunteers wanted to contribute to the migrants’ social integration, using its experience in the communication field.
Our organization developed tools to help migrants with their daily tasks. For instance, ICVolunteersprovides them with complementary linguistic services. We advise and guide non-French speakers to institutions and associations working in the immigration field, we offer community interpreting and translation departments and have a help desk located in the Arcade for ongoing support and workshops facilitating social integration.
